Humans fantasize about outbreaks related zombie apocalypse all the time. Outbreak is the kind of outbreak game that bases itself on a similar storyline with multiple gaming options offering different kinds of experiences. Developed by Catchdog studios, Outbreak is still in its nascent stage of development with an alpha version available that the developer understands to have some glitches. Let's take a look at the outbreak game and see if it is worth playing or not.

The game's downloading occurs in two stages with the installation starting once all the files finish downloading. There is a note from the developer at the start indicating that there will be glitches though the app would keep updating in order to remove the bugs so that you can have a seamless experience. The app has a very eerie outlook that goes well with the game's storyline. There are six main options available on the main screen of the outbreak game. They include "Single Player", "Network Play", "Collection", "Options", "Extra" and "Leave". The single player is the main gaming mode where you can play the game. The network game is an option currently not available though this is to hint that the game will have a multiplayer option later on. The collection section is for buying items with points earned in the game. The Options section lets you change camera angles and enable or disable the in-game music. The "Extras" section includes update on the new features now part of the game after every update.

The single player gaming mode has five options namely Story Mode, Rescue Mode, Escort Mode, Mode Arena and Mission mode. The last two gaming modes i.e. Arena mode and Mission mode are currently not active but will become enabled in the next updates. The Story Mode is also currently under development with two "scenes" available but there is no option of playing them. The Rescue and Escort Modes are more developed with some "scenes" available for playing the game. Unfortunately, the "Tutorial" scene is under development and therefore, you would have to learn the game on your own for now. The Rescue mode is essentially about survival and you need to reach the end of the map with your life intact in order to clear a given round. The Escort mode requires you to not just take care of yourself but to usher two other individuals as well without getting them hurt.
The gameplay is interesting to start off with as you can choose from a variety of characters. From a solid cop to a damsel in distress, you can choose your character at the start of a given "scene". Its unclear how the choice of characters affects gameplay but it is a cool option. You can also buy different costumes for the characters if you would like.

The gaming environment is difficult though with the controls being all over the place. There is a joystick which controls movement (front, back, left or right) while the screen view can be changed by moving your finger along the screen. You can also strike a punch, move backwards or stop in your tracks with buttons available at the right of the screen. Since the camera view is difficult to control and the joystick movement not extremely responsive, the game is laborious to play. The opponents keep coming and you can only punch your way out of a zombie attack.
The outbreak game's graphics are fine and interesting with the map having good details. The zombies are well designed while the main character also looks good. The background music is also interesting and adds to the gameplay.

Outbreak is a promising game that is currently in early development. While the graphics and maps of the outbreak game are solid, there is work that needs doing with the controls and game engine. The game may not be a great option currently but with the right updates, it can certainly become a solid entertainer.
